Joey Brink

Joey Brink, born in 1988 in Boston, Massachusetts, began his carillon studies at Yale University in 2007 and became a carillonneur member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA) in 2011. In the same year, Brink graduated from Yale with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a thesis on the design of realistic-touch practice carillon keyboards.  Brink continued his carillon studies on a Belgian-American Educational Foundation (BAEF) fellowship at the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, Belgium, where he graduated with “greatest distinction” in June 2012. Brink went on to win first prize and audience prize at the 7th International Queen Fabiola Carillon Competition in Mechelen in June, 2014. In January 2015, he began studying carillon performance and composition with Geert D’hollander at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida as a Bok Tower Carillon Fellow. In July 2015 he was appointed carillonneur of the Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago, where he will take up his duties on October 1.
