Stefano
Colletti, born in 1973 in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, France, obtained
his Masters in
Musicology from the University Charles de Gaulle in Lille in 1995 and
was
awarded degrees in piano, solfege, harmony, orchestration, and chamber
music
from 1990 til 1997 from the Conservatory of Lille. In 2002 he received
a
diploma from the Paris Music Conservatory in composition and was
awarded prizes
in harmony, counterpoint , fugue and forms, and orchestration. He
studied the
carillon in Douai with Jacques Lannoy, was awarded the medal of the
city of
Saint-Amand-les-Eaux for his carillon performance in 1992 and two years
later
won the third prize in the first competition for carillon duos in
Douai,
France. In 1995 he obtained the diploma of master carillonneur from the
French
Carillon School in Douai and three years later was appointed as the
town
carillonneur, the 35th since the position was established in 1391. Mr.
Colletti
is also a professor of carillon at the Conservatory of Douai and
teaches
harmony at the Conservatory of Valenciennes. In addition to playing
recitals in
his native France, Mr. Colletti has performed in many European
countries and
the United States. He has recorded ten carillon CDs and was chosen to
play the
carillon in Bienvenue Chez les Ch'tis (Welcome to the Sticks), a popular French movie
premiered in 2008.
