Marc
Van Eyck, born in 1957 in Louvain, Belgien,
attended the Royal Carillon School "Jef Denyn" in
Mechelen, Belgium and was awarded his diploma with
„distinction“ in 2001. He is a member of the school's
board of directors and the carillonneur
of the Saint Gertrude Church in Louvain. He has given
concerts in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland and
the USA, was the editor of the carillon magazine
't Schipke and has written several articles about the
carillon. He investigates carillons world wide and works
on improving their tractions. At the moment he is the consultant
for a project to install a new carillon with 51
bells in the city of Aarschot. It is
hoped that the instrument can be dedicated on November
11, 2018, the
100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
