Kenneth
Theunissen,
born in 1973 in Tongeren, Belgium, is
carillonneur in Hasselt and Gent. He studied at the Royal
Carillonschool "Jef
Denyn" in Mechelen, Belgium and
was awarded his diploma in 1993. He has won prizes
at four carillon competitions: third prize in Munich,
Germany in 1992,
second prize in
Venlo in 1993 and first prize in Zwolle
in 1995, the Netherlands and at the Queen Fabiola carillon
competition in
Mechelen,
Belgium in 2008. In 1995 he was awarded a master's
degree in percussion from the Lemmens
Institute,
Louvain, Belgium,
which he teaches at the conservatories of
Hasselt and Lanaken.
